Book Mooch
Bookmooch.com has an interesting concept in trading around books with other readers. You earn points to borrow other books when you lend yours.
You can even donate your extra points to a couple of charities so they can purchase needed books. I’m going to try it out soon.
(Available in the US, France, and UK) If anyone has used this before, I would love to hear your thoughts.
Facebook Fun
The funny facebook video on my friend Jenny’s wonderful blog called NEWRU is hysterical because in some ways it is so true. Hey, I think I know this guy.
Wear your seatbelt
Sorry..a second video, but this was a very creative moving reminder that you should always wear your seatbelt.
Let’s make this world a better place
I was moved to tears at the stories by “How to treat others in 5 lessons”. The five stories have an amazing message that is sure to make you think. Warning: have a tissue in hand.
Going along with that concept, I thought the article “72 ways to make someone’s day” has some wonderful ideas.

Hey Melinda thanks so much for the mention! I have not gone through all the links yet but I plan to over the weekend.
Thanks so much for sharing the book one I am an avid reader so I will have to check this out as well! Have a great weekend!

No problem. I think my friend and I have watched that video about 6 times each. SO FUNNY!
I literally stumbled upon that book share program.
I liked the how to treat others in 5 lessons. I really believe people can learn from that post.
The video on seatbelts was pretty creative. I think there needs to be one on texting and driving. This is a huge one lately with me because I had a near death experience as a passenger in my younger sister’s car. I now do not ride with her because she refuses to put her cell phone down.

I thought that article was so moving. If only people would think before they do something hateful.
A similar video warning about texting and driving might get the message across.
I’ve heard of BookMooch but I haven’t used it yet. I do use GoodReads, authors usually give away books there. I’ve won a book that I requested, I’m looking forward to receiving it in the mail.
I really enjoy that commercial, I rarely watch television so I haven’t seen it there, but a few weeks ago, I did catch it on YouTube.

That one is new to me. I’ll check that out, too.
Hi Melinda,
Thanks for sharing Bookmooch! I’ll check it out.
The commercial was excellent. The vidoeography and the characters were amazing.
I especially enjoyed the story about the little boy and the ice cream. My eyes got teary.
Take care!

I know the ice cream story is too sweet!
Melinda, I wanted to ask you about the Genesis Framework. Nile has been hyping it up to me
Your site definitely looks killer. How do you like Genesis?
Most Genesis Child themes don’t seem to be displayed with a footer. Is there a widget area for the footer?
Oh, and did you do a lot of customization to this site–it certainly looks like a professional theme designer had their hands on this?
thanks!

On stumbleupon, per usual. Hell no I’m not giving anyone one of my books. Those are some of my (very few) possessions. Bookmooch is going to have to pay me a few hundred thousand bucks if they want me to part with my copies of essays by Strauss and Benardete.
