To-do lists make you more productive with your time.
A simple tool, they are used to keep track of the things to do during a given day, week, or month. To-do lists act as a reminder of the tasks you need to accomplish.
By using an electronic to-do list, you have much more interactivity than a piece of paper. Here are ten to-do list applications which will help you organize your life and increase your productivity.
- Now Do This [Free]
Now Do This does away with all of the bells and whistles that you will find in other to-do list applications. Type in the list of things that you need to do, and check your items as completed. When you are done with your list, the program will tell you that you are done with your tasks of the day. - Voo2do [Free, $6.95 per month]
With Voo2do, you can create to-do lists, edit them and write notes. Project grouping allows you to conduct and manage several projects simultaneously. There is collaboration support, enabling you to assign tasks to other users. The interface is extremely easy to use. - Bla-Bla List [Free]
Account creation is simple and can be done in a matter of minutes. You can create lists, share your lists at an address of your choice, and collaborate with other users to complete your projects. Create an RSS feed of your list to let others know that you have been working. - Remember The Milk [Free, $25 per year]

What a great list of tools I didn’t know about. Thanks James for a wonderful contribution.
I have been using the manual “to do” list for sometime now and had really never got into the “eTo do” arena just as yet. With this list, I believe that one of them should a the very least fit my “habits”
Will give them a try, obviously starting with the free ones and hopefully stop there. thumbs up!

This is a great list! I used to use Bla-Bla List and Google Tasks before I bought my Blackberry, so I can personal vouch for the effectiveness of both. They helped me stay organized and accomplish everything that I needed to get done. Highly recommend for anyone constantly on the go.
I’ve heard about Remember the Milk – must check that out. I generally use my own lab notebook but I’m getting to the point that more resources to keep my priorities in check would be a Good Thing indeed….

I, too, have been using a notepad. I want to try an electronic list and see if it improves production.
Thanks for the great resources! I try balancing it out my to do list on my planner and put the important ones in my phone to remind me when it goes off.
Google Tasks seems like the easiest one to use, being that I already use a lot of their tools and have previous accounts there.

Nice list Melinda, I personally use ToodleDo, which is a free online task manager, with a freemium model and optional iPhone/iPad apps to get even more mobile.
I particularly like how it manages task priorities, with an internal algorithm taking into account both the task priority and the due date, so that you always have a REAL priority list at your disposal.

Thanks for this list, I will check some of them out!
It allows you to organize your to-do’s in several thought trains and each train has several boxes. I use it all the time and I find it extremely helpful for planning a bigger project like a party or a trip.
I personally use Thoughtboxes, you should consider adding that one to the list
