Having trouble finding the cord you need?
What you are looking at is my cord “lost and found” box. It contains chargers, adapters, and other miscellaneous cords that I have no idea what device they go to, but I am too afraid to throw away.
Funny? Maybe. Sad? Definitely!
The problem prompted an easy solution to prevent any other cords from being doomed to this pile.
Tired of figuring out which of the three camera USB cords went to my camera every time I transferred pictures, I decided to put a tag on them all.
Now the project is to tag all the adapters, chargers, USB plugs, etc. in the house with the name of electronic device they go to. No longer will I risk breaking a connection trying to shove the end in to see if it fits.
Use address labels or other sticky paper to wrap around the cord and stick it onto itself. Write the name of the item it goes with on the tag. You could use a piece of paper folded over and taped securely on the end for the same effect.
Now I’m tempted to label my ipod charger, too, so I can find out who the culprit is that keeps taking it from my desk.
Great idea to label them. I learned my lesson the hard way and have had to re-buy cords I needed.
