There seems to be no limit to what you can do with old socks. My good friend Karen came up with a way to use them with the Swiffer.
As a pet owner, I love the Swiffer for keeping the hard floors clean. If you aren't aware, you can also use it as a wet mop.
A greener option to the wet pads is using socks.
Take 2 worn out white socks and turn them inside-out. Run them under hot water with a few drops of dish soap and wring it out.
Stretch one over each end of a standard Swiffer sweeper. Make sure the rougher side is the part you will be using on the floor.
This cleans the floor better than the wet pads do because of the texture, and they are completely FREE.
Best of all, you can launder and reuse them!
I tried it out and it worked great. You can even replace the socks with dry ones to run back over the floor to dry it.

I love to reuse things and am always looking for ways to recycle my old stuff so I don’t have to throw them out. This is a great tip. Thanks.
The idea sounds interesting! Creative idea of re-using old socks into useful cleaning stuff is such a big saving on ones pocket. No need to buy or replace typical foams because old socks would do.
Reusing old socks and cloths are simple ways on how we can reduce the waste in our environment.
Reusing old and worn socks can still be useful for our home. Turning your socks into sweeper is a great idea in reducing the waste in our home and environment.
Thank you for sharing this great idea on how to modify a simple old socks into sweeper mop. This is one of the ways on how we can use old things to another useful one.
Oh that’s really interesting to do with old socks. You can’t just easily throw or disregard old socks, but you could make it useful. Since this is fiber, you could just wash at could remove stains easily than using the ordinary foams. this is good tips to make use of we thought useless “worn-out socks”.
I guess this method can be implemented with any old cloth we have. Personally, I do not think my socks would fit there.
Ha! Great post, now I know can put some of my boyfriends old’s socks to good use. Great way to save some money on all of those Swiffer accessories. Thanks!
