Book Review: Organized Simplicity

Organized Simplicity book
Organized Simplicity: The Clutter-Free Approach to Intentional Living

“Simplicity isn’t about what you give up. It’s about what you gain. When you remove the things that don’t matter to you, you are free to focus on only the things that are meaningful to you.”

When asked to review Tsh Oxeneider’s new book Organized Simplicity, I enthusiastically agreed. Always interested in learning new organizing strategies, I discovered that not only is this book about organizing each section of your home, it’s about learning to live with less.

What is important to you?

Tsh really gets you thinking about what is most important in your life/home and how you can live a simpler life. This is a philosophy I really believe in. Having too many items causes clutter and ultimately leads to unnecessary stress trying to keep it all straight. Aren’t we all looking for a simpler life?

The book includes a ten-day plan that shows you step-by-step how to organize every room in your home in manageable bite-size steps. A helpful checklist is provided for each room so no area is left untouched. Mentally a checklist is a great motivator and reassurance that you are making progress. As a bonus she includes instructions on how to make your own non-toxic household cleaners.

Did you make a resolution this year to get organized? Organized Simplicity is a great handbook to help you gain control of your home and declutter your life.

Disclosure: I was supplied a copy of the book at no charge, but the opinions about the book are my own.

Thanks for letting me know about this: a few friends of mine love the “checklist”/”action plan” type books (I suspect that’s why ProBlogger’s books sell pretty well).

I think the most important thing for most people is setting aside time to get a little something done. Right now in front of me is a pile of dishes that have been accumulated by people who haven’t set aside any time for cleaning. I admit I’m not perfect, but I know I try a little every day. The book sounds super helpful with the “bite-size” steps.

Sounds interesting. You are right having so many item in the house may produce clutter and mess. There is nothing wrong having many items it is how you manage it, but still simplicity is very much important to me.

I always dream of having a simple life. I want everything in my life made by simple things. Having a lot of stuffs and items is not bad but be sure that your house is big enough to carry it all and no clutters at all. Great things happen in a simple things. Thanks for providing this great insights!
